As a Member of Curiosity
We only collect & process what we need to provide you with the service you signed up for. We use a select number of highly trusted and acknowledged service providers that takes privacy seriousy.
We only share information with our service providers that is required for them to carry out their service.
Here's the practical details:
- An email address is required to create an account. Becoming a member requires that you provide us with your email address. With that information you can log in to the website and we can send you invoices, updates or other essential information.
- After you create an account you can choose to add a name to it. If you choose to supply a name on your account, we will use it to personalise the email newsletters we send out. We will not use it for any other purposes.
- A persistent first-party cookie is stored to remember you’re logged in. If you log in to your account, you give us permission to use cookies so you don’t have to log in on each returning session. This makes it easier for you to use our product. A cookie is a piece of text stored by your browser. You can adjust cookie retention settings in your own browser. You can delete any cookies that are already stored at any time.
- The payment process is handled by a third-party payment provider. If you choose to upgrade to a paid membership, the billing information and the payment process is handled by Stripe. See the Stripe Privacy Policy for full details.
- All emails are sent using a third-party email provider. Transactional emails and newsletters are sent using Mailgun. We have disabled all tracking of emails we send out. See the Mailgun Privacy Policy for full details.
- Contact form submissions are sent using a third-party form provider. If you submit the contact form on this website, the content and the delivery process is handled by Tally. We keep the correspondence, which includes the email address, so that we have a history of past correspondences to reference if you reach out in the future. We use this data solely in connection with answering the queries we receive. See their Terms & Privacy articles for full details.
- Common Ghost (Pro) files are sent through a third-party CDN provider. The platform that hosts this website uses JsDelivr to load core files of the website. It allows them to reduce internet traffic, since the same file you download when visiting this site is used for any other Ghost site per default. Best of all is that JsDelivr only use your IP to deliver the files to you according to their privacy policy.
- Custom font files are sent through another third-party CDN provider. We focus on making sure that as many as possible can take part of our content. Our chosen fonts are legible and made to be easy to parse. They are downloaded from Bunny, another european CDN provider. Their Privacy Policy says they only use your IP to send the font files to you. Nothing more.
- Website files sent by Ghost (Pro) are sent through a third CDN provider. The rest of the files, including the core javascript, are sent through Fastly. Their Privacy Policy is quite long, but as long as you're only browsing Curiosity they will not collect more than your IP. Which is necessary to provide the files so you can browse Curiosity.
Retention of data
We will retain your information as long as your account is active, as necessary to provide you with the services or as otherwise set forth in this policy.
We will also retain and use this information as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy and to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and protect our legal rights.
You can choose to delete your Curiosity account at any time by contacting us from the email you have signed up with. All your data on this website will be permanently deleted immediately when we delete your account per your request. Directly afterwards the account deletion, we will also delete all available data on you from our service providers in accordance with our legal obligations.
